Eat Learn Grow Georgia empowers child care providers across the state to start and expand their Farm to Early Care Education (ECE) programs. This mission goes a long way in connecting young people to locally grown food, and educated kids on where their food comes from and why it matters. Lifelong healthy habits, a wholistic understanding of the benefits of local small business, and excellent childcare programs are some of the key results that ELGG has produced thus far.

The organization needed a website that could meet growing demand and complexity — providing easy access to online materials, giving ECE members a place to login and view the full resource library, finding a way to visualize where ECE providers are in the state, and more. BFC Digital partnered with ELGG to make this happen, at a cost-effective price point, and in a system that eased the burden on the organization’s backend staff.

A key feature of the new site is an interactive map, showing Farm to ECE locations across the state of Georgia. In addition to showing site information, the map also links to unique profile pages for each item, provides visual categories for the different locations, and allows users to search on a number of criteria to find the location they are looking for. We wanted to create an easy-to-navigate, user-friendly experience, which can be tricky when dealing with a dynamic feature like an interactive map. In order to do so, we used Google Maps’ robust API to build a seamless map integration, allowing visitors to find what they need efficiently, and on any device.

Accessible, inviting resources, with an option for members-only segmenting. A customized resource library is at the heart of the new Eat Learn Grow site, with valuable online content displayed in an appealing fashion — with a variety of filters and search prompts available. Logged-in members are able to view the full breadth of the resource library, incentivizing engagement and providing extra value to members.

The site features a number of tools focused on fostering collaboration between schools, students, farmers, and more. An interactive map allows educators and farmers to connect and find one another, learn more about ELGG’s partners, and how they can get involved.

A beautiful events page, along with ELGG’s signature “Harvest of the Month” feature further connect its users, and allow the website to serve as a true one-stop hub for all information regarding Eat Learn Grow Georgia.
